Ideal for gathering flowers and light-duty pruning jobs, this pruner features fully hardened, precision-ground blades that stay sharp longer, and a corrosion-resistant, non-stick coating that reduces friction to make cutting easier. Stronger-than-steel FiberComp handles provide strength and durability, and Softgrip provides comfortable use. Includes a stem stripper to safely remove thorns and a handle that accommodates left- and right-handed users. Lifetime warranty.The Fiskars softgrip bypass pruner is an ideal choice for most floral pruning tasks. The pruner features patented softgrip handles, which relieve hand stress and increase comfort, and also features a stem crusher and thorn stripper for multipurpose floral duties. The stem crusher increases water absorption on freshly cut stems, and the thorn stripper quickly and safely removes thorns from rose stems. The fully-hardened stainless steel blade cuts branches and stems up to 1/2-inches in diameter. The bypass blade provides a cleaner cut for living, green growth, and the pruner's Nyglass handle construction is a strong, but lightweight nylon/fiberglass composite material for long-lasting durability.

After reading a previous review---I wondered, before the item arrived, if I made an appropriate purchase. Rest assured that the Fiskars name continues to mean quality. I especially liked the feel of these soft-grip pruners and the thorn removal section. It took me about 3 tries to get the thorn removal done swiftly and easily...but once accomplished---pruning my roses and preparing them for the vase..is easy. I also appreciated the element near the thorn remover where you can score the ends of the stems to allow more water for the flower in the vase. For those rose gardeners----this is a must have item!
